A whole bag eaten still he wanted more

She wiped her hands on her apron

Leaving there prints in saffron

And puppy dog made a dash for the door

Today's mosiac 'Masking Up 2022 😊 selfies.

Wearing the mask is now the wearer's choice. From 17th July, the mandate for wearing the mask in public has been removed, here in Trinidad and Tobago. I continue to wear my mask in public and so far wherever i go when i leave home, people are still wearing the mask.

QUADRILLE WRAPThe air is cool. Smoky clouds enwrap a moon,  one of  the larger ones. The kind you look at and wonder how come the night lamp is there and you never noticed it.

FEATHERED CHOREOGRAPHY

There they stood

She in her white lace and he

In his suit of endless eyes

Both had their beauty tamed

Tucked away as they pecked

At bowls of feed

We glanced at them

Waiting for arrogant displays

But we got none of that

They were hungry so it seemed

Or maybe in a peckish mood

So we lost interest in them

But further along the path

Under a big shady tree

Another male he alone

Would fill our request for awe

This peacock fanned out

His endless eyed feathered display

And we stood rivited and watched him

SHE MEANT TO KEEP IT
A single red rose, he had not even the  good sense to have it dethorned before delivery. This was his apology?
She had it sliced away leaving a scar deep within her heart. That was a scar she earned for her foolish trust. She meant to keep it.

To read is to travel through pages
Discover wonderlands and winter worlds
Leaving a sunny Caribbean in stages
Tip toe or walk through place or time
Wend and wade you travel through pages
Long long ago or far far into the future
Choose your pace breaking all cages
The universe gets smaller fitted to eye span
You can sing though the storm rages
A cup of tea will soothes your aches
And wonderings as you travel through pages

AND

Rainy season; there is the thunder. the lightning. the flooding. The overcast clouds eventually give way to brighter skies.

Some mornings a red sky will morph into grey into mild blue. Activity never ceasing always wonderous. Who can control the weather.
