Striking chords slice grey dawn

Night falls back, with morning exposed

Pandemic day awakened bows to a yawn

Prayer thoughts stain the swiping blade

Feathered heralds slice grey dawn

Time duly apportioned  to historical eras

Ponder the goal sky! grey to azure sworn

For whistles and songs  choir your task

This is the dance of daybreak drawn

By a master swordsman besting his game

Kiskadee and Mockingbird slice grey dawn

Meet me where the sidewalk ends

❧✿❧

THOSE OUTRAGEOUS HATS
The road ends here, there is a hole in the mud a few paces away. Don't be too serious about the pavement ending. Don't overthink it. If you are a dreamer come in for the curious falling. You might trample over a few rabbits scurrying out their warren, after eggs, the Season of Easter being all of this and more.

The Red Queen? Oh no, she will not be showing her face here. She has had enough of that Alice girl, with all of her growing and shrinking; her eating and drinking.

Ah, but The Hatter, for sure he will made an appearance, to quell the ostentations of those big-hat ladies, wearing what they insist on calling Easter Bonnets, but you and I know, they are outrageously anything else but a bonnet.
He will be there to judge and prize the merriest or the maddest.

Trees around the savannah, must be happy, now. Its dress up time again. I saw one of the Pink Poui dotted pink as i passed by. It's that time again Holy week pulling us into Easter, colour coding our flowering trees. Colour on the potted Crown-of-Thorn keeps deepening as Good Friday approaches.

Will there will be  kite flying in the savannah, or will folks want to stay at home observing Covid19 protocols. Guess i will not be privy to answers, since i will be staying at home. Not that i mind, i have grown accustomed to Covid19 monk-dom.

Quadrille - knots
Lanyards on uniforms blue,
That's the way i remember, camp fire songs;
Nights under stars we hadn't a clue,
Those days we did belong;
Affirmations like 'be prepared'
Tying  clove hitch,  slip,  and friendship knots,
We sang life, caregivers cared,
They charted our dots.

You wouldn't like water all over you splashed
What about the rain i earnestly enquired

Rain would be like Jesus from heaven come down
Oh well then that shouldn't spoil your fun

Blessings and miracles we all need it now
Even if you we re a big ole cow

But you're not aren't you my little sweetie
Don't even have to name you my sweet Rosemary

So then i will wet you at the soil
Snips of you i'll sautee in olive oil

It'll be fun you just wait and see
You and me my sweet Rosemary

NOTE TO SELF
Wisława Szymborska, states in her poem “Possibilities”
“I prefer keeping in mind even the possibility that existence has its own reason for being.”
I do not know this poet but i know i luv these words of wisdom. There is a ring to it that says change and uncertainty is like tomorrow, just a blink of  hope away.
The author of life has already penned in yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Note to self research and read poems by Wisława Szymborska

COLLECTIVE GOLIATH
There used to be a moon leading like a star would.
There used to be people, crowds of them in the auditorium park.
There used to be corn soup vendors late into the wee hours of morning.

Street festivals are a historic memorabilia.
Something kids will google with enthusiasm.
Curiosity feeding the research fire.

It took only the tiniest of living things to make of us all a collective Goliath.

On wings through sky that way
How wonderous dreams do say

Irony of man in magical pearly abalone

For smoke reaches the Gods in stealth
Slowly from shell of purifying wealth

In some Native American cultures, the shell of the abalone is used to burn sage. They believe the combined spiritual power of abalone and sage would take their messages to their Gods.
