ME
Laughter in gulps, tea in sips,
nature a coverlet, the finest counterpane,
introspection - guardian of silence,
armour of joy, window of smiles,
the adulting mind, the charming apron;
all these, cover a soul, who really is a child,
tender, frightened, tear-stained: me.

My new favorite of yours, who may have armor and shell, but they never hide the tenderness inside. How wonderful!

This is a tender, self-revealing poem, Gillena. Who know what another person is really like inside unless that person chooses to tell? Thanks for choosing to tell!

OMG...I love every word of this poem. I can see a smiling 'you' as well as the "tender, frightened, tear-stained" child. A heart touching poem Gillena.

How wonderful! This is so heartwarming and a reflective course of a wise mind. It's good of you to tell that a person can be so many, albeit opposite/parallel, things.

I love this! Such wisdom! Each of our souls is really a child. I so wish humanity could understand this simple truth. We are so much more alike than we are different. Each of us, once a vulnerable child. Each of us, full of love and dreams.

Yes, this is beautiful but even better is that you still feel and think like a child which is a gift indeed.
