SAYING SOME NAMES
Trees slender, trees tall,
Trees spreading, trees for all;
Botanical gardens, royal in the city
Of Port of Spain, serene and pretty;
i say your name with love.
Hear the beat of the brass band,
Hear the beat of the steel band,
Look how they swaying them hips,
Masqueraders with kaiso on their lips,
Dancing, prancing, in the Carnival drama,
All the way to the Queens Park savannah
i speak your name in revelry
Hot spicy tasty roti
Doubles with pepper slight or heavy
The hosay parade,
The tadjas all handmade
The tassa drumming a la mode
Through the Western Main Road
I say your name with words ornate
Port of Spain city main,
St James close terrain
I say your name, say your name
Say it again and again.
