Green Face Man
Succesfully as a belt for whooping,
Was 'de green face man'
Parent-wielding myth,
All about the town at night,
Was he a supposedly frightful sight,
A calypsonian sang:
"De greenface man is all about
De devil in de town so hush you mouth."

Dragon from Pinterest
Yesterday i posted Shudder - A fold linking it to dVerse and as quickly as today i am mining it with some new punctuations, line breaks and an extension of the storyline, and adding it to one of my series.

TALES OF A DRAGON UNSEEN - MAKING MYTHS [9]
"Mayhaps we be reading the shadows wrong."
She whispered to Erke, edging up even closer.
His sword sheathed, he dare not prolong
this agony of not knowing, what monster breathed
ahead. "Mayhaps we be reading the shadows wrong,"
he agreed with Gurtha, quickening his stride.
Just then, in the distance, the booming of a gong.
They stood frozen, holding breaths an eternity.
Quickly a shudder wove through the forest, a throng
of sensation. Forever cannot be drawn in a circle.
"Shh! mayhaps we be reading the shadows wrong."

The dragon shimmied its way back into the sea.
Silvery scales wagon-wheeling through the vast
wetness. Only to Neptune's trident he chose to flee.
Of loud percussions had he, no taste of entertainment.
So dragon prince, shimmied its way back into the sea.
Then the ripple of leaves against a whistling wind,
and Holy monks in a temple, tired too of duty,
Was now, all that remained of a harrowing night.
Till the next season of moon birthing, maybe,
Erke and Gurtha would have have to wait their adventure.
For the dragon shimmied its way, back into the sea.

FIREFLY: A VISION, MAKING MYTHS [7]
That day was a soft blue azure,
And night a trifling more somber.

She sighed as she pulled the covers,
Up way up to cover her features.

This new solitude, undesigned intrusion,
She must come to terms with this siuation.

Now into the room serene, and dimly lit,
A lone firefly chose to wander and to flit.

Spreading his flame to absorb the room,
He thought of absolving her from gloom.

She awakened from sleep, all knowing,
She sensed his presence, fully glowing.

She pulled off the covers to stare in awe,
She was never one for old-school folklore.

"I am your guardian angel" he offered,
"Never be lonely, and never be tired."

"But always have faith
For this span on earth."

"Till we meet again
Adieu my sweet and gentle friend"

From bright to slight her space had faded,
But a seed of wonder was securely planted.

Was it in October? was it September
Hummm, I really do not remember.

TRINIDAD - LAND OF THE HUMMINGBIRD [MAKING MYTHS 6]
She was pretty, she was cute.
She had big dreams;
But she was small, too small
In the eyes of her tribe.

She was pretty, she was cute.
She had big dreams;
She flew back and forth.
She flew backwards and forwards.

Now's when, Jealousy, the bird of woe,
Flies into this poem.
She, and many of her jealous kind,
could only fly forward.

One night, Jealousy stole some stars.
She and her cohorts bounded Yerette,
Placing in her beak, starlight.
Then, they went to Greatest Honourable Bird.

Look! see! Yerette has eaten some of the stars.
Of course Yerette was banished from Cloud Patch.
She flew and flew till her wings were weary.
Then she, exhausted, flew backwards.

Bumping into a rock,
The starlight expelled from her bound beak.
And there it was: three, now starlit, Mountains.
She pledged herself to this uninhabited place,
Making it her own.

She called it Iere.
She plucked feathers from her beautiful wings
And birded this place called Iere
Soon there were charm after charm of hummers.

She blew on her magic flute
And people had dreams; dreams of adventure,
Dreams of conquest in far away lands,
And so they came and peopled her land.

Yerette and her charms were ever more beautiful;
And never never lonely,
And always always admired,
And always always treated kindly.

TASTY BITE RHYTHM DANCE AND A CITY
This poem is a tasty bite
This poem is rhythm and dance
This poem is a city

Early in the morning - throngs,
Long standing queues,
A nod to the question: hot or slight
Settles the amount of pepper to Doubles.
This poem is a tasty bite.

Children's carnival - Main Road alive,
Intricate patterns costume their way,
'we beat' festival - pan in the streets,
And beautiful tadjahs at Hosay.
This poem is rhythm and dance.

Such is the vibe of Western Main Road
Loath to sleep, until wee hours,
When the bars close their keep
Tasty feisty insomniac, is St James.
This poem is a city.

This poem is a tasty bite
This poem is rhythm and dance

MAKING MYTHS [4] DRAGON
It all started at the edge of earth, where man and beasts lived together, each keeping to their own kind, a very long time ago. When one day: in sauntered Dragon, strutting his scales and fire belly.

Then up comes The Steal-er who shouts, looking him up. "Who do you think you are? stalking through my town, proud, dragon-proud" Dragon retorts: looking him down. "Where? are, my treasures, you thief! you scalywag! Where are my gold, my diamonds, my rubies and sapphires? You take my things without a care" "Shut your mouth! You fire-spewing-reptilian-whatever." Shouted The Steal-er.

And so, the fire dragon inhaled, keeping his fire. He stood there, at the edge of the earth just smirking. Earth started getting warmer and warmer and warmer. (He is still standing there, smirking) Today, folks all over the globe, are everyday, talking about global warming.

EVER WONDERED HOW THE FIRST ORCHID GOT THERE...JUST SAYING
When the salt torched her skin, she shrieked like ten thousand banshees bumping into age-old trees in the jungle. They has banished her to the heart of the jungle, calling her a witch. Only because the King (i don't remember his name now) loved her so much. She was the most beautiful woman in her tribe. (i dont rightly remember the name of her tribe now either)

She knew then for sure, they didn't want her around anymore. Her pride was hurt, and her heart was beating lapses of lemons. Not even Anancy in all his trickery mastery, could revenge her, she thought. So she withered, right there in the jungle.

When next they passed by, every one stopped to look at her, she was so beautiful. Her mouth still open from her dead lips screaming. Her petals speckled from their wicked salting.
But how did she get here? They mused with their mighty minds and called her epiphyte.

epiphyte - A plant, such as a tropical orchid or a staghorn fern, that grows on another plant upon which it depends for mechanical support but not for nutrients. Also called aerophyte, air plant.

Today Magaly gave us a list of really really funny titles, and asked us to be inspired to write a poem or story after choosing one from her given list. I chose: #12. People Who Don’t Know They’re Dead: How They Attach Themselves
to Unsuspecting Bystanders and What to Do About It, by Gary Leon Hill

MAKING MYTHS [2] TREMOR
Gaia sings her lullaby, for every crevasse, in every star. There's a lull, by which her progeny earth, will rest, will dream, will seep into the tunnel of darkness, emerging out, at the the sparked end, having traversed through the caves and caverns beneath, like a veiled bride, unknowing, until, the sunlight, kisses her cheek; one, then the other, and blushing, with passion awakened, the warmth of sun, like a splendid God, challenges her being to, the sensation of rhythm, so she sways and swoons, swaggers, and moves her hips to a new found prize called the dance. First her hips, then her feet, jewelled and coloured. Slowly, her pets tom-toms, too, are awaken, in a perilous spate of surprise to the view of their mistress's concert entranced, sounding a pace to her hips, those hips, mesmerizing, the bridegroom, Sun. Their passion rising, her feet, moves faster, shifting layers, shifting levels, till all that's left are the shambles, the sirens, the sobs. Muffled sounds; for now Mayhem and Despair too, are awakening. Chaos yawns. it's still to early.

forming the rock of drama gamma beta sigh
