Heat Tableau
Why is it today?
my entire soul,
being a-ruffle,
as the rain leaves us,
to scorch and to burn.
victim of climate
changing its wary
ways; hotter than hot,
rainier than wet
days, of yesteryears.
the noisy fan whirrs,
i scribe words to soothe
my new discomfort,
of climate days changed,
and yet still changing,
oh what a challenge.

You made me feel the heat in your tableau, Gillena, despite the cooler temperature here this morning. No wonder your soul is a-ruffle. You’ve certainly captured ‘climate changing its wary ways’. I also like the juxtaposition of the whirring of the noisy fan’ and ‘words to soothe…discomfort’.

What a fabulous phoenix! (Pity we couldn't be reborn after going through this kind of fire.) A powerful poem.

This horrific warming of the Earth feels terrifying much of the time, you chose a timely topic and composed a wonderful tableau to describe it!

It was really hot than usual. And no doubt climate changes are impacting us all. Hope you have a good and not so hot weather for the weekend.

Indeed it is a challenge, our trees are struggling to figure out what season it is.
