Cassava is a root vegetable. It is the underground part of the cassava shrub, which has the Latin name Manihot esculenta. Like potatoes and yams, it is a tuber crop. Cassava roots have a similar shape to sweet potatoes. People can also eat the leaves of the cassava plant... [note from the internet]

 If you shut up truth, and bury it underground, it will but grow ...Emile Zola...

 Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don't see what goes on underground - as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don't see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree ...Joyce Meyer...

 REMEMBERING MELODIES

Bird song at dawn belongs to awakening,

Grey sky has a chance now to colour brag,

Then to silver, some pinks are showing;

How in the planet's name do those birds

Remember melodies, dawn belongs to awakening;

Coolness of morning shadows,

Lend to a new day of enjoying;

Vanilla ice cream will savour dessert spoons

Licked to childhood rememberings,

Awe belongs in  every sunset,

Gratitude at sunrise, dawn belongs to awakening.

A Labour Day Wordle can look something like this
Another public holiday? Yes. Today in Trinidad and Tobago we celebrate Labour Day
Labour day is rife with history of oil field workers marches and strikes and attests to the evolvement of labour union in this twin island country.
Names like Tubal Uriah "buzz " Butler and Adrian Cola Rienzi come to foremind. Better working conditions and a voice for labourers are what all the strife and strikes were for.

 TOMORROWS COME

Oh what a day this moment sings

And yet the dawn hangs lower still

No happy songs no golden rings

These treacheries only can fulfil

Though dreams are smitten in ether

Until they aware to  gleaming light

And hope reaching out to the future

Such is the posture of worrisome sight

Behold a rainbow throbbing across

A span of rainy season colours

Refusing to fade it brightens a sauce

Long enough though not for hours

Whose songs are sung to Aurora borealis

What humble tones escape throats in awe

What makes a day turn into this

The whim of destiny that's for sure

Flow as it go  tomorrows come

Wither their tunes prepared to hum

MTB with John Donne and his heroic sonnet
challenge to write a heroic sonnet... 4 alternatively rhymed quatrains (a/b/a/b c/d/c/d e/f/e/f g/h/g/h i/i) and a rhymed couplet. It has no designated arrival of the volta (but it may actually have more than one) but the concluding couplet should summarize the message.

 BOLD AND BRASSY-  A QUADRILLE

Music awes me

like a  formation at dawn

when sky plays her colour notes silent yet unyielding.

There is music at sunset sky too,

like the Soca melodies of my Trini people.

Bold brassy and compelling.

Music will outlive us all i am  sure.

Present tense, stormy rain;

Now blessed and fled;

To somewhere, where the ocean's

Tossing up a fit.

A storm is to be named;

Letter-A,  Letter-B,  Letter-C;

Which shall it be?

It only is the beginning still;

There's lots of time to assign,

Naming letters.

 WEATHER CAN BE CRAZY

I like the rains.

But you luv the rains

Rain is not a discordant sound,

Falling from on high it goes into the ground.

We expect seasons will come and go,

But there's a crazy kind of twist to weather, so

Best we carry pretty umbrellas in the rain,

Our smiles in sunny days will be a gain.

[dust wallpaper from google]
DUST
Dust is the nusiance of sweep and sweep,
The broom working overtime,
In the absence of a vacuum cleaner.

 Dust is the reiteration of yesterday's chore,
And the vexation of Sahara Dust,
Crossing the Atlantic in modern day climate change.

 Dust is  is the prophecy of endings: "dust to dust and ashes to ashes,"
It really is the iteration of heartbreak, loss, and so frustrating,
Dust is.

Prosery: Breathing and Moons

“An early moon is just a piece of change in the softening sky. “

is the prompt line given from

James Masao Mitsui, “Spring Poem for the Sake of Breathing, Written After a Walk to Foster Island”

AN EARLY MOON

Sometimes it is clear, exercising in the mornings, is sheer punishment. So she relents; tucking herself under her blanket for at least a half an hour more. Aging she muses is no sin.

The birds know their songs, the dew when to fall and the worms their wiggle. All of the above will happen even though she is not yet awake.

Oh but the moon, she will miss this lingering beauty in the silent drama of colours and palettes from above, weaving their silvery pinks and greys to azure. She had always thought " An early moon is just a piece of change in the softening sky"

SPENDING TIME WORTHWHILE

Make time for Him your one true friend

He'll see you today and through to the end

Every care every concern big or small

He'll listen and solve problems all

You'll go to Him in thanksgiving

He'll send you back  rejoicing

Nothing to Him is meaningless

Every burden he can heal and bless

Oh what a friend to rely on

What a friend to lean upon

That Calvary man that son of God

He'll bear your burdens one and all
