CORONA COCOON
To dawn i bow in deep respect
The action of hope in effect
Again engines are rumbling
The wheels of industry turning
Traffic jams in the streets piling
Return to old can we accept
The new normal landed for sure
Oh it was so quiet before
When we hid in our homes or
Just stayed indoors because we wept
Family and friends swept away
A wave called corona keeps all at bay
Yet with vaccine and caution may
We creep out of cocoon adept

I pray we can emerge from this cocoon Gillena. I must say, since that ball dropped on 1/1/2020, things have gotten mighty weird.

I love this - so apt for today's times. I am also happy that you tried the couplet, followed by the quatrians. I feel you when you wrote we wept when we stayed indoors with so many deaths.
ReplyDeleteHere in Canada, we can go out but with a proof of vaccination receipt. This is no problem as most of us here 80% are fully vaccinated. Hope all is good with you.
We are vaccinating. And phased openings are happening.

I hope people will be able to go out and about again soon! I hope people are getting vaccines and are being cautious in T&T. Here in the US we have too many crazy, ignorant people.
ReplyDeleteI think we are more cautious than crazy here. Thank God for that.

We've all been through the wringer and back again. Hoping that some net good comes out of this mess. Timely and well-articulated offering, as usual, Gillena.

Gillena,
ReplyDeleteYou speak for us all. It's just like the tide has (almost) washed away the past year and a half. It was good to hear the Norway chief of health say that covid could now be considered like the common flu.

I hope we can take the best things from the cocoon and bring it with us to the new world. I do not miss the traffic jams
