 Here Come The Dawn

Is night the passing of respite,

A little space to dream

with eyes closed and minds

Open to existing realms unseen?

Or is there wonder too

In the every day of dawning,

Close to the bosoms of awe,

A miracle of restart bringing?

Yes! the dawn is worth the hope,

The chance to continue or,

To delete and start again,

The inspiration of plan-to-make,

Of futures to carve out,

Dreams to sketch a blueprint,

Of ways forward to future,

Dare to give to today a hint.

That startup time, that nuance

Of newness,  is the dawn we await

With its silent preface;

Then patterns of birdsongs,  to

Fillow on the heels to blue sky,

Where clouds  quietly drifting,

All embracing coverage,

And morning moon fading.

The twinkling of night,

The shadows and silhouettes,

The neon flashes,

All must kowtow to the transience

Of dawn;

The middling phase of; its here,

See? a new day.

It has come from no where.

 YESTERDAYS: A Spanish Ovillejo

When was yesterday's rain ever

Debated as never

To be spoken of again?

Like it was the same

Dish tasted at breakfast,

A thing of sound repast;

Generations fade fast,

So history writes itself

To the topmost shelf;

Ever, never, again, the  same, past.

The Wild Grasses
The wild grasses lean with the wind
Their pas de deux a rhythm of the mind
That synchronizes the ocean  breezes
Through seasons and transgresses
The limitations of mere mortals
The souls of passages and portals
Those pilgrims who must journey but

The wild grasses surrender and cut
Through the paces of the melody
That alludes to an inherent parody
The conscious human thinker craves
To imitate in desiring so he behaves
Though others of his kind call him crazy
The complete or adorable looney

Those wild grasses are caution free
The wild grasses grow then they rest
Their dance with the wind is the test
To grow again without question
The best or worst of a next generation
They ponder not of today or tomorrow
The coming of joy or of sorrow

EAT
Eat greedily of children's tears
Eat wearily of soldier's boots
Eat heartily of sunflower's strewn
Eat of the mud of covetness

Eat and be nutured by today's pain
Eat, pray for forgiveness of corpses strewn

Eat now of divinity of love
Eat for the nourishment of earth's healing

Eat your fill of bird song
Eat the fruit of joy in a new day
Eat your fill of cotton candy cloud
Eat of hope in tomorrow

Father of this nation

Your words still echo

To the children shut in

Because of the Covid 19

That their book bags carry

The future of a society

That is T&T

Tap your key boards young ones

Zoom your home-works

Pay attention to your studies

He must be smiling over them.

CORONA COCOON

To dawn i bow in deep respect

The action of hope in effect

 Again engines are rumbling

The wheels of industry turning

Traffic jams in the streets piling

Return to old can we accept

The new normal landed for sure

Oh it was so quiet before

When we hid in our homes or

Just stayed indoors because we wept

Family and friends swept away

A wave called corona keeps all at bay

Yet  with vaccine and caution may

We creep out of cocoon adept
