anyone can write; am i a poet? you decide
A Look Back
She looks back
Only to see herself etched
In a canvas of colour bars
Not as tasty as candy
Much more messy
Than an artist palette
The truth triggers waterlilies
To blossom on strange
Mossy rocks

I love the idea that she was ‘etched In a canvas of colour bars’ rather than overpainted, Gillena, and of truth triggering ‘waterlilies to blossom on strange mossy rocks’.

The first stanza can almost stand alone, but I love the imagery of the final stanza. 💙

I love this, Gilena, especially the last stanza where truth brings blossoms. We need that.
