 Rain Forest Trek

Sneakers treck through the rain forest

Eyes a wandering through the tree tops

What's that sound we want to know

In the city we do not hear this

The marvel of the monkey ladder vine

From ground to the trees grows strong

Strong enough to become furniture

To listen to your guide is wise

For some of these plants can grab and hold you

Never wanting to let you go

But its okay to breath in the sweet

 Fragrance of the incense trees

  1. Thank you, Gillena, for taking me on a rain forest trek with you. I love the mystery of the ‘sound we want to know’ and the monkey ladder vine, but I would be wary of ‘plants can grab and hold you’!

  3. Such a different forest... I am always seeing your poem in the contrast between the tropics and the north

  6. So much fun taking all these walks through different sorts of forests. I've done the rainforest one..an all-day trek lovely but exhausting.

  7. Beautiful poem, Gillena! I used to live surrounded by rainforests. We hiked through it once or twice. It was wild terrain, and one of the times we ended up getting eating alive by red ants. Not fun! Lol!
