QUADRILLE - PUNCH
We punched holes into each sheet of midnight
So stars with their pointed light
Could illuminate nightmares
Never letting the void of curious stares
Intimidate our wanderings
For what are we if not writings
On the wall of mention
Some poem sought as intention

Thought-provoking! The duality is strong in this one, yet the light is always greater! 👏👏

A stellar quadrille, Gillena, the first two lines of which reminded me of Juliet’s soliloquy from Romeo and Juliet: “Come, gentle night, come, loving, black-brow'd night, Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars,”

Nice, Gillena. I take it you are like I am, writes a lot after bedtime. Mine are often sitting on the bedside. I'm glad the holes didn't hurt them badly, perhaps kept them awake and gave you a personal light. Like a flashlight under the sheets.
