Happy International Women's Day to all women visiting today
You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).
Welcome to Monday WRites #288: A Happy Monday to all. Be Safe.
In some Native American cultures, the shell of the abalone is used to burn sage. They believe the combined spiritual power of abalone and sage would take their messages to their Gods.
I like your poem, your info on the Native American practice of burning sage in shells, but what I like most of all is your banner at the top of the post. Looks fabulous!
I love your little musing on write and rite. Lovely poem - the comparision between birds and smoke is great, and I guess we are all striving to reach the gods, whoever they are.
Beautiful photos and I wish you a happy International Womens Day!
