BUTTON NOSE OF A DACHSHUND
At the edge of silence
A voice, a name pronounced right
Covid 19 protocols observed
We meet at the gate, but the puppy, sans mask
A bottle of wine is always welcome
Fringe benefits for a surprise visit
I respond to my name knowing and
recognizing the call of a sibling
Long-time-no-see

Thank God this virus did not effect our pets. That would have been tragic, cutting us off completely from affection.

It feels like too much has been compromised during this time of Covid. May there be normalcy.

It’s always a delight to meet a friendly dog, especially a dachshund with a button nose, but even more so in these days of isolation. And fringe benefits are welcome too! I would love to see my sister, but she has no pets. It’s my daughter with the button-nosed dogs.

It is painful when we can only meet in this way, but the best we can do! I love the image of 'the puppy sans mask'🐶😊
