 Shane

My pet of high school days,

Would stand by me in so many ways,

He walked me to the bus stop,

And waited my return,

How did he know when i would be home,

Shane - my pet my dog my pal,

What a pal!

  6. My dog growing up was actually a raccoon! Didn't get my dog until I was a preteen, but I've had one ever after.

  8. What a sweet poem, Gillena. We've always had small dogs (pomeranians) until now. It's just too much work. Instead, we have cats. ❤️

  9. LOVE this tribute. Our daughter's cat would do the same thing, wait on the steps around the time she would get home from school. So crazy how they just know.

  14. This is such a tender and nostalgic piece 🐾

There’s something truly special about childhood pets — the way they become silent companions in our everyday routines, almost like they understand time better than we do. Shane waiting for you, walking you to the bus stop, and returning with you in spirit paints such a vivid picture of loyalty and comfort.

A beautiful tribute to a very real kind of friendship that never really fades 💛
