On a branch i was your rose,
Blooming sweet before you froze
Our i luv yous.
The night wind spoke,
While i was yet asleep
So you followed your whim.
Let's do him in
It said, but you didn't understand,
Horizons was the tesse.
So you sought your reverie,
And i, regretted yes, but
Determined to progress.
Left you alone to your seek,
Selfishness made you weak,
Now i can speak.
I grew and strived in sunshine
And in rain, all for the better,
Beautiful rose that i am.

A beautiful rose indeed Gillena, and I love the rhymes that weave through this piece...
ReplyDeleteThat last stanza was awesome, Gillena! ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteSometimes we just have to bloom by ourselves...
ReplyDeleteGillena, “Now i can speak” hits especially hard for me—the quiet reclaiming of voice after heartbreak feels both intimate and unflinching. That moment lands like a soft but certain step forward.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
