 PARANG AGAIN

To wit and with humour plenty,

The bard pens his parang merry,

A song of Christmas,

Caribbean borne, alas

No snow,

But angels a plenty show,

Us joy with their parang songs.

Adore him,

Gift him,

Love is borne again,

Merry the time again.

  2. I love this! I had to look up "parang" and it makes the meaning so much more ... meaningful. Thank you for insights into a culture that I admire but don't know well, and, in particular, for the last line, "Merry the time again". Your verse is prayer and praise.

  4. A joyful festive quadrille, Gillena! I could do with a Caribbean Christmas with no snow and plenty of angels.

  8. I love that I just learned so much. You've written a beautiful poem that is at the heart and spirit of Christmas. (You do not need snow, you have the praiseful music)
