Welcome to Monday WRites # 364
September is waving goodbye
You've heard about the Monday Blues ❧✿❧well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).

❧✿❧A September HaibunSeptember extends the celebration of August 31st here in Trinidad and Tobago. The Independence anniversary celebrations carry look backs to colonial days, for a people's history is important to understanding and maturity. As well there is always assessment of where we are now as a nation.
The fireworks ( back after pandemic lockdowns), the cultural pageants, the wearing of national colours, carry forward into Republic Day 24th September celebration; that's when we got our personal head of state , The president.
Then there is September 23rd, the start of a now totally immersed cultural happening of 100 Days of Christmas begun, and still hosted by our own Sweet 100 FM radio station.

It looks like you’re enjoying your celebrations, Gillena! It’s a bit too early for me to think about Christmas – we are awaiting the birth of a new grandson first.

Gillena - I am glad you explained the 100 Days of Christmas, because at first I thought - did she accidentally post the wrong post??? My goodness, this year has gone by very quickly. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

Interesting haibun abut celebrations. Christmas looks a little far away, but when it comes, we sure will feel time is fleeting. Eight days passed already since Sept. 23.
