“All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain” - Roy Batty, Blade Runner

What the rain does

It washes sky

Lashes leaves at the nodes

Leaving like tears drops on blades

What the rain does

Is empty of clouds

Groaning in thunder

Sparking in lightning

What the rain does

Is tug at the heartstrings

Knowing that the flood

Of tears will not heal only soothe

But life continues

To the auger of the rains

Even if it be forty day or nights

When a sprig in a beak hails

A new form

Then all the moments

Will be lost in time,

Like tears in rain

  4. And so it does. Not only to heal but to soothe and spring new life.

  7. Oh Gillena.....I think this is one of the most beautiful poems you've ever written. Truly. The repetition of "what the rain does" until there is no more repetition and the thoughts move on beyond....Oh I truly love this poem of yours.

  11. "But life continues" / "A new form" the transition of all the things rain does to the cleansing hope of the heartbreaks to be forgotten in the down pour.
