You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).
Welcome to Monday WRites # 320: A Happy Monday to all. Be Safe.
Challenged to Write a quadrille which included any form of the word ash

Her ashen countenance, matched well her fear;
Perched at her scared window view.
What was the matter,
With the day's overcast was, its silence.
No words spoken in warning to anyone,
Just this ominous hue,
Of lies already told, not now to be repeated.

Gillena, this is much darker than your usual poems - October must be getting to you. I love the weight of silence in this. It packs an ominous punch.

The ominous hues makes that last line even stronger. A lie is a genie in a bottle, once out you cannot put it back...

The ominous hue.....ashen countenance....scared view.....the overcast gloom....all set the mood here so well. Lies told....lies hidden....a way to doom a relationship and make the ominous hue become the reality of a doomed or lost relationship.

A sense of doom hangs in the air - and I'm wondering, what were 'the lies not now to be repeated'?

That heavy hue of lies. I hope to steer clear as I've been lost in those woods before. This is a very vivid quadrille.
