THE QUESTION OF DRAGONS
"Dragons!" She exclaimed. "You must be joking. There are absolutely no castles around these parts. There are storybooks and flower gardens. If dragon be what today you seek, then i would suggest, try one of those."

All the blooms in today's mosaic is from the same Bougainvillea shrub, The first time this plant flowered i got greenish white blooms, then i got pinkish white blooms then a year i got pinkish white blooms with one bunch of blooms displaying a scarlet bract. This year i'm getting orangy reds scarlet and one bunch of pinkish white. What can i say, its got a mind of its own, and i'm loving the experience

Gillena - I have never heard of a Bougainvillea changing its "stripes", but it is wonderful. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get! Love your poem/story today - I can just imagine the storybook fairy garden and castle AND the dragons! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

I wonder if pollen from nearby flowers gets mixed in with your bougainvillea. We've a pink one in the front and a purple one in the back. A friend told me the flowers make cool leis, something I haven't tried yet....I enjoy watching dragons go by. :-)
ReplyDeleteI do have a scarlet bougainvillea in another part of my garden, and i have thought about that pollen theory.
ReplyDeleteHappy you dropped by Susieee
