Always it is about the wider expanse
Today i am dawn greying into azure
Then soon i am bird song winging
My way into noon shadows
Cooling down to twilight fantasies
Now i call myself silhouettes
No longer am i shadow
But was i ever greying, winging, cooling.
Am i ever bird song at dawn
Golden at twilight
Is there ever measure to the wider expanse
Where are yesterday's cumulus puffs
Where are the thick dark clouds hiding
A shy moon at night
Where are those morphing clouds
Following that lonely wanderer
Am i even transience
Worthy of a cloud-self

Yes, yes, yes, you are, dear cloud!
ReplyDelete"Now I call myself silhouettes
No longer am i shadow . . . " I love all the transformations. I wish humans could be that easily/gently (?) transformed.

Gillena, This is a new favorite. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe think we change over time yet clouds do so at tremendous speed buffeted by the wind or reduced by the heat of the Sun, prepared to shed tears when the temperature and pressure decide...a puppet in natures hands.
ReplyDeleteah yes indeed Robin "apuppet in nature's hand"

I love the thought of seeing ourselves as "silhouettes" instead of "shadows". I love what it says about the power of choice and perception.
