Monday WRites 190

BIG BIG MOON
This January, Moon grew big big, and round
As great sky held her tenderly, securely.
So surely she would not fall to the ground,
Like a yellow fruit, heavy and laden with flavour.
Yes, every so silently she grew, big big, and round
Birds sang to her, their sweetest thrills.
She sleeping by day, was no where to be found
Oceans knowing, swirled like frenzied worshippers,
While manic humans swayed to Siren sound
Ofttimes a moon crop is ever so special
Watchers whisper, she grew big big, and round

  4. I missed the moon. We saw it shining through the clouds, but it was too thick to see much. - Margy

  5. "big big", I love that term. Also your simile of the moon to fruit is so sensual, so appropriate to the moon. Very cool poem, Gillena.

  6. Gillena- your poetry describes nature in ways that are unique and yet so perfect - my two favorite lines are "as great sky held her tenderly, securely" and "oceans knowing, swirled like frenzied worshippers". Thanks for sharing your literary talent with our Mosaic Monday readers!
