SUNRISE
A new bright morning, timid at first
To emerge, waits for sanction of bird songs.
Hitches a ride on the schedule of a passing aeroplane,
Dodges between tree branches and grey cloud spaces.
All the while, growing in confidence,
Feeling the warmth of a splendid sun.
Finally burgeons but still carrying the crayon set
of yesterday's sunset.
I am morning, OMG! she exclaims.
So she gives herself a hearty shake,
Then settles into a bright azure,
Waiting, knowing a few cumulus puffs will drift by.

I enjoyed your personification of a new bright morning, Gillena! I love that she’s timid at first and ‘waits for sanction of bird songs’, and the way she hitches and dodges into shun-shining confidence until she ‘settles into a bright azure’. She’s so bright she’s cheered me up!
