Monday WRites #71

WHAT'S IN A NAME
I sound my name, sound my name, sound my name
Again and again
But who cares for my worthless repeat,
My aim? my aim?
Toward the targets of wanton mischief lame
On you, oh shame! shame!
Know this, he who is, knows me by name
He reigns, he reigns
I sound my name, again and again
He reigns! he knows me by name.

  1. I sense a kind of longing in this poem.. perhaps a longing for recognition, love and acceptance. No one can save us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves alone must walk the path. Beautifully penned. Have a wonderful week Gillena :D

I have lived with mispronunciation all my life and mid spelling too. I am always so happy when people get it right

  7. A wonderful piece, Gillena. I love the song-like qualities of the rhythm and the sense of self to be found in one's own name.
