Monday WRites 49

[a google dot com image]

THOUGHTS ADRIFT
Tap tap tapping the keyboard
For its magic of words to strike a chord
The music of this poem still hidden in a shroud
Wide awake unseen, unheard, adrift like a cloud
Thoughts wander to this and that
So tell me today what have you got?

So tell me today what have you got?
Are there spiders in your teacup
Or maybe a mouse in your sugar bowl
Silly rhymes like beads of gold
Thread into a poem, rattle a gourd
Tap tap tapping the keyboard

Thank you for the invite; I'll see if anything can be tapped out for this afternoon or tonight. It is School Vacation here in NH USA (1 week) and I have my daughter's two boys for each day, until she gets out of work. So Monday, let the games begin. :-)

  6. I will call this "the Early Morning Birthing of a Poem." Last night when I was finishing up I had 'grounds' in my coffee cup. My poems were too far along, the spine poem long before, the limerick a couple of hours ago, but perhaps I should have written of them. Maybe next week. It might become a new hit song, "Grounds in my cup," like "Smoke gets in my eyes" did.

    2. Thanks for the title suggestion Jim (✿◠‿◠). Sometimes you have a idea and you just run with it other time you stumble over blank spaces and vague impressions

  12. Oops. Not only did I miss the post time, but, I posted on the wrong list. What's the silver cloud (because you know there is always a silver cloud). I discovered your link to The Tuesday Platform. More possibilities to explore.
