THE AMPHITHEATER
lights on:
footsteps up and down , up and down
the concrete steps;
pulse of 'we beat festival'
cool nights in The Amphitheater 's bowel,
gestating rthymn after rthymn;
the flair of a community once stated -
"they never sleep";
but times have changed,
they sleep now,
awakened; every now and again by the 'we beat' vibes:
the jazz...
the corn soup...
the steelbands...
the corn soup...
the craft items on sale: earrings, rings, t-shirts...
the corn soup...
St James awakes to
'we beat festival'
in the bowel of
The Amphitheater.

    1. as we say plenty tempo, (◕‿◕。) the steelband on stage is not as "wild" as going through the streets

      happy you dropped in

  5. There are lots of festivities and movements. An amphitheater can be the focus of cultural activities to account for this. Wonderful write Gillena!

  7. Sounds like something unique to see --this festival. I see "pan night" on the photo and wonder if they just beat on pans on a particular night. Sounds fun.

  11. Gillena,

    It is always wonderful when on holiday in particular, to find a traditional event taking place. Linking the 'locals,' with the casual travellers can be rewarding for everyone.
