CLEAR VIEW  a sevenling

If i am your queen

And indeed you my king

let us be the dance

Watch that scene

Over exclamations of wonder

See us a  vista clear

I am by your side

Monday WRites 327

Today's mosaic is titled 'Birthday Girl' The birthday girl is Yanda, my daughter. (All protocols observed) All vaccinated, a tiny group of family and friends (all girls party) went to the safe zone  'A Cup of Joe' in Woodbrook on the eve of her birthday to celebrate her turning 50.  That left her, alone time on, her actual birthday the 28th to relax and spend the day reading a book.

Saying goodbye to month of November  and thanks for all the blessings.
You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is  Monday WRites  (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).
Welcome to Monday WRites # 327: A Happy Monday to all. Be Safe.

Challenge: to write a quadrille using any form of the word Crown

SAVIOUR AND KING
An earthly crown to pierce his head;
And he, heavenly crowned, to rule
For ever and ever over all,
That has been created.

Ergo the manger awaited his coming;
Where three kings, already in crowns,
Paid homage, bearing gifts of
Gold, frankincense and myrrh.

A crop of the canvas 'De Meeting'  by LeRoy Clarke

DINE OUT AGAIN -  an ekphrastic
Bring to the table your knives and forks
Elbows and fingers
Your green shoes with the platform heels
Clop clop into the dining area

Vaccinated patrons only
This is a safe zone
We feast on sumptuous morsels of
Macaroni pie and trini gossip

Little did we know that staying at home
Could be world mandated
We viewed the paintings of Picasso
Lets steal glances of Clarke

Now here comes dessert
Sweetbread and sorrel
Christmas around the corner
See the angel on the tree top?

THANKS GIVEN
There is so much to be annoyed about, we remember the hurts so well. Hurts are not wild game that one goes a hunting. More like the unpredictable weather patterns. Some just come storming in. Wetting the plants, the porch, the window curtains. Snatching a bit of roof in rage. No one not even the meteorologist expected that. Well hurt is like that sometimes.

On the other side of the coin, there is the unexpected joys. Did i see that coming? Oh  but there is still goodness in the world. Like the drizzle cooling the parched earth. The wildflower pops up which no one ever planted. With its unique colour tones, petal count. stem lengths. And we pause in contemplative gratitude. And Sometimes thank you pops up in a smile not spoken.

“Lights” by Michael Whelan, Acrylic on watercolor board, 1991 courtesy DVerse

GRATITUDE

Life is a journey of gratitude

The sun come up it shines brightly

You cannot stop the attitude

The light just dazzles your eyes

That life is a journey of gratitude

This i have learned a lesson well

Taught through intangible longitude

Memorized in disappointments

Accepted in wisdom of vast latitudes

The sun goes down enjoy the setting

For life is a journey of gratitude

Monday WRites 325

Some Peppers we use her in T&T. [all photos taken from the internet]

Peppers were named by Christopher Columbus and Spanish explorers who were searching for peppercorn plants to produce black pepper. Columbus took samples of a wide variety of peppers back to Europe where they became quite popular.

“Don't be a pepper on the eyes of people; Rather be the salt on their tongue and make a difference that influences their sense of belonging to the earth.”― Israelmore Ayivor

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.

If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,

Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked? [The earliest version of this tongue twister was published in Peter Piper's Practical Principles of Plain and Perfect Pronunciation by John Harris (1756–1846) in London in 1813]
