[Extinction of Useless Lights by Yves Tanguy (1927), image courtesy deVerse Poets Pub]
Dawn sky becomes the artist,
This canvas of depth and shadow,
What is being held,
Between whispers of breath?

Who owns the language,
Of declaration?
When can we hear,
The voice of morning?

The aliances of breeze and
Movement skirts banana fronds,
The dance of unfetted coming
And already here is alarming.
