CORNUCOPIA
A spell of night rain, pooling,
An abundance of memories.
Vast as this night's passing,
Inky black sky holds her charm,
Like story of oceans, pooling.
To cornucopia, stuff sweet excesses.
Never leave to river's carrying.
Steadfast, hoard your days of past
Contentment, and guard unyielding
In such mystique as night's shadows.
Revel a spell of night rain, pooling.

An abundance of memories is the best abundance of all, I think. Good one, Gillena.

In the spell of night rain pooling--memory, time, oceans, sweet excesses and past days all seem vast and wonderful. Love the repetition of pooling ... and, of course, the music.

I really liked your repetition of "pooling", as something that is abundant and would soon overflow and flood and that wouldn't be good. It reminds me that we have to keep everything in check, even our memories so that they don't spill over and create a mess. That contentment and the unyielding guard in such a scenario made me smile. Very well-penned, Gillena! :-)

Love how the first line comes at the end, changed. Everyone will relate to all the past sweetness and contentment. Beautiful, Gillena.

An abundance of memories can be either a curse or a blessing---or maybe both!

One hopes, Gillena, your poems speaks of an abundance of positive memories of past love ones and experiences. AS within the shadow of darkness, much hate and anger can linger, harming us.

There is something exquisite in hearing the night rain falling, especially if you are tucked up in bed and it sounds like music to the ears. Yes, the repetition was very effective.
