KINDNESS UNSPOKEN
A smile a nod, not a word said
Such is kindness on a day foul or fair

A smile a nod, not a word said
Gentle hand outstretched received in prayer

A smile a nod, not a word said
Soup steaming hot in the belly of hunger bare

A smile a nod, not a word said
Umbrellas shared in a drizzle with flair

A smile a nod, not a word said
That hug, dearly departed laid to rest, for fare

unending green the leaf of trees

unending vibe of hot sweet kaiso
even on days prescribed to be holy

Caribbean sunshine
always overhead, around us
and in our warm hearts

Blog hopping today with imaginary garden. In April we write a poem every day

Virtue or Vice
Prompted by Rommy. Challenged: to consider virtues and vices, or more specifically the Seven Deadly Sins or the Seven Heavenly Virtues. The Seven Deadly Sins are Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. The Seven Heavenly Virtues are Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Patience, Kindness and Humility. Your poem must include at least one of the names of the Virtues or Vices (and I know several of you will be tempted to use more than one - that's Pride right there).

Midweek Motif ~ Summer
Prompted by Sumana.

  6. I am sure many of think we are living in "the best of all possible worlds" I certainly appreciate where I live. Let's hope many more of us feel the same as you and I, Gillena; even though we are thousands of miles from each other.

  23. It's always a good day when the sun shines, although without those dark, stormy days, we probably wouldn't appreciate the sunshine very much.
