A WILDFLOWER BLOSSOMS
It’s all there the heartbreaking issues
Of how a father loses mind and heart
And kills a child
There too the scandals in features
One man takes another to wed
To bed
For shame the terrorist who shuns freedom
To riddle his bullets in serious
Disasters
The media, mass today generates
So much heartbreak for us
To bear
Least a wildflower blossoms sweetly so
There's non but the poet
Such news to scatter

And you are one of the best to keep us seeing the sweetness in the world. Thank you, too, for the song.

I'll take what the poet offers over the daily mayhem in the newspapers.

Oh how true. Only doom and despair seem to be reported, and the search for good news is bleak.

Well put. I have said: Our news says a lot about "us"
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that closing stanza, which brings hope and beauty to a dismal situation. Thank you, Gillena.........I needed that lightness.
ReplyDeleteOnce the news was old and of some other place when we heard so we didn't worry but after a hundred years or more of global politics and the ugly media bursting on the scene to unquieten us thousands of mile away we wake fearful every morning. Wild flowers blooming on the TV doesn't attract advertisers only calamity does!
DeleteYes indeed Robin, that is the scourge of the task of media
