OFF HER SHOES
She bounces into grama's house
A little girl of four
To grama's room she enters
Through the open door

With stories to tell of school and more
Of shadows, moon, planets and such

Sometimes she wears jeans and tees
Sometimes a skirt and matching top
Sometimes her hair's pinned up in clips
Always though she wears a smile

If at all she is a fairy butterfly
Her shoes she removes before her wings

  6. This is so cute, Gillena. It made me smile like a happy loon. And yes, shoes should always come off before wings. If we are lucky, the wings will always stay.

  7. Oh that is so cute, Gillena. I love those last lines:
'If at all she is a fairy butterfly
Her shoes she removes before her wings'.
I'm surprised she removes her wings at all!
