Courage and continue are C words
Not meant just for the service of the smile
When the caterpillars are finished eating
Then the chrysalis hangs from the branch
The door to flight are wings of courtesy
Whispering wishes which court the light
Then comes the emerging a curtsy to life
Dynamic and oft times cruel
Onward and further into caverns unexplored

Courage

#Process Note. In looking for a nice video to compliment or supplement, after posting my poem today, i came across this one and read about the person Henriette DeLille for the first time. Hope you too enjoy this find

  7. You show how courage is so instinctive in inbred by using the caterpillar as your example which achieves the impossible in its short lifetime. Beautifully written Gillena.

  10. Gillena, the image and the words that you have used, with this poem speaks louder than the quietest whisper. As the butterfly has a very special meaning to the transcommunity, as one of our symbols, for growth and rebirth, in our chosen gender. Thank you, for bringing forth this, in your poem.

  12. You made all those c-words into fine poetry, Gillena! I get the sound of cruelty but also the sound of conscious callings, caverns or not. I curtsy to you (and like the story of DeLille too).

  17. I love how you made me think of butterflies letting go of their fear but venture on into hidden territories like caverns and such. I like this courage. It's like, open up, fly into unknown territory and soar!

  18. Gillena,

Courage and continue make very good companions, as we seek to decide our individual directions. Onwards and upwards may be the prayer...
