An apple a day
To stave off the medics
Just place it in front your face
Leave it there the entire day
When night enters the arena
Remove the mask
The apple that was used
To hide behind
Now face the moon and stars

Bold Tree
There was a tree bold
Night silhouettes to hold
It often wondered
When the sun was lowered
Why was every one so cold

A Pocket A Pocket

 Handkerchief from his pocket

The magician's deft hands

A rose blossomed

Red so red

Nose on the clown's face

The sweet breath of a garden

 Morning is here

Air pocket in the cloud

A loud aeroplane jets through

Mending fences skyward

Where distance diminishes

One Only

Skeletal trees in the dead of night,

Spread beneath a sky in silent awe,

Framing a moon serving her light,

For all to spectacle when outside,

But only one in the dead of night,

Wished  to saunter there outdoors,

For this particular moonlit sight,

Maybe not yet the deep autumn,

This moon though shining bright

Has had various stories all to tell

Of one out there in the dead of night.

Some Mornings

Some mornings out in my backyard, i would sit in silence, in company with sky, sometimes bland, sometimes cloudy, waiting, watching for the sunrise.

There were many mornings the daymoon waited with me. I would look up without my glasses and view the fuzzy daymoon, my faithful companion.

Then a few years ago, i had cataract surgery to both my eyes. Now my daymoon vision is enhanced

without eye glasses -

daymoon in the early sky

the clear sharp outlines

Flamboyant
Late blooming flame tree
A picturesque scene to see
Not as crowded as your sisters'
Early bloomed whispers
Spendor's also given thee

 Along A Winding Road

The road is narrow,

Narrow enough for the bus,

And a swirling breeze;

The view from the window

Steep and slooping,

Seems endless;

But there are fields,

Christophene fields,

The vegetable, is also called chayote;

There are streamers on some of the plants,

Would they be like scarecrows,

To discourage birds,

And secure the harvest;

No other vehicle passes us ,

Along the narrow road,

So happy for that,

Had there been another,

Our hearts would beat its fastest;

How would another vehicle fit,

Along this narrow road,

Winding its way,

Way above steep slooping fields below;

We journey on with interest and,

Brave hearts.

Five Ways From Home

Red ixoras garland the front gate

Azure points a silent thumb there

Without wingspan of chicken hawks

Morning progresses to noon

A hot day in paradise

Seeking vittles go east

At the main road meditate

School days, work days, and errands

Traffic streams all day long with

Polite sunshine no honking horns

A westward argument wins

More narratives of high rise

Living spaces stepping up to sky

In tiny spaces of ascensions

Where modern living is easy

A magnetic pull secures

Opposites attract

The market places

Where lettuce and tomatoes

Absorb  disciplined spaces

Sunrise escapades with

Early morning bird whistles

And cloud fancies

Prophecy of  actions casual

To everyday necessities

[Design for a Tapestry Art Print by Joan MirĂ³]

 How Wonderousq

Assuming sunrise is diligent,

And birdsongs causally rehearsed,

The pleasant morning scheduled,

Can never dissapoint those clouds,

Held there in maplike sequences

A jet plane and its passengers,

Held there in secured suspension,

Follows the paths of rightful sky,

Adopted for moving through air and time

Arrival in good timing,

Is foremost on the minds,

Of these temporary early sky dwellers,

High up above in the heavens,

Them above and clouds below,

How wonderous life is at times.

[The Cave Art Paintings of the Lascaux Cave; from google]

Word From The Sage

Ah, but the Starpainters are taking over now, you have nothing to worry about, said the  wise old sage to the group huddled together in the dark cave, for months now.

He knew by instinct,  and innate sage wisdom, the time to venture out had come. It was time to face the night sky, to smile with the moon, to slumber, be refreshed, rise and enter a new day

 Life Lessons

Seconds, minutes, hours,

They dance their choreography,

Now you try it,

And; one, two, three,

Plié, relevé, plié.

Some of us capsize

At the last plié,

Some of us never rose

At the relevé,

Life is like that,

A strict harsh teacher,

Never stopping to cuddle,

Ever shouting the instructions,

To rise, drop, rise again.

At the relevé,

You should breathe,

That's you cuddling you,

Or you'll stay capsized,

On the floor.

The rhythm is:

One, two, three,

Plié, relevé, plié,

Gracefully, now.

Xenolith Silly

Xenolith

Xenolith

Where art thou, without a wit

Xenolith

Xenolith

I thought i heard a bird, a twit

Xenolith

Xenolith

Come now say you'd sit with it

Xenolith

Xenolith

A rock a sediment to wit

Oh Xenolith

Truly you are it ,

You are it.

 Here Comes The Bride

Time was when i sang in the senior choir at my church. The choir is still in existence, only i do not sing anymore.

In those days we had choir practise, at the old church weeknights. And on a Sunday morning we sang at Holy Mass. That was before Covid19.

We sang too, at funerals and at weddings. In those days, i loved weddings. Now too, i still love weddings.

happy bride and groom

yet some people sniffling -

weddings make me cry

You have got this body now
To live on this earth
A planet impermanent
Where you call your home
Emotions form part of life
The sadness and pain
Some losses and some gains too
There is time to spend
Lessons to be lived and learned
Tread lightly go slow
But time passes quickly though

 Dense intense vibrant reds

Hold the garden inbreds

Very much like the crowd

At a football match loud

Enough to be seen yet and

Bold as the fervor of passion

Sharing the frenzy of the match

Less rowdy always sedately watch

He of the talent of words,

His is the greatest protest,

Please, give us your fervor

Of the fondest amor -  love,

The steepest mountain climb,

The coldest winter morn,

In agreement of seasons

But no, it is never so,

So clever is he, protesting.

 Daylong

wishing it was still yesterday

i closed tightly shut my today

in daydream

at times the dawn is late coming

with herald birds sweetly singing

it's daylight

wings flapping in pairs and in threes

flocks fly high above the tall trees

look! daymoon

lingering still amidst the clouds

sentient being yield to clouds

at daybreak

gratitude is all  that we need

nourish our thoughts for this seed

through daylong.

Staid
We should just stop here,
For healing and sustenance,
Are all contained in this block;

The empty billboard -
Is it a sign of no stars?
Is there no one good enough?

What is important,
That will surely be obtained,
Excesses - not important;

Even the clouds, look!
Seeming quiet and staying,
While folks, are roosting indoors.

Raining - A Fold

It's raining it's raining i close the window

Well, because only that one was opened

Sweet and low

My eyes snapped a blossom

But  before i close the window

I look up at the sky

There above not below

Crying its heartfelt rain

In the rainy season's sun glow

Steelpan music all day long

Irregardless it's raining, i close the window

 Jumping In

To jump or rather not to jump,

I fancy my thoughts would

Contemplate, before words

Enter a blank page

Having had the mentorship of

The words, the punctuations

Then would bravely follow.

Comma is the contemplating sage

The jumps is an adventure after all
