You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).

Here in T&T, we are still in a state of emergency and locked down in trying to 'flatten the curve' Vaccinations are continuing

A pink supermoon wanders, in her realm of sky
She looms large, as ripe as a rosy mango
The night lingers with her cozy sigh;
Who will contest her blooming down below?
She muses, she wanders in her realm of sky
The night is cool in a solstice saucer;
What says the whispers of Spider lilies? aye...
As her slender petals mimic meteor stars;
Should she raise her eyelashes to those on high
Or saunter on the night breeze as prayer on wings
While supermoon wanders in her realm of sky

Ernest Hemingway quote : When you start to live outside yourself, it’s all dangerous.

Apples give that crunch to being eaten

And soup you can slurp but never chew

How are trees so deeply rooted the grow

Down and up and never touch the sky

Only in dreams are the  pink blossoms of Poui brighter

And cliffs I stay away from, for i am afraid of heights

what right have those morning birds in their frenzied whistling

to nudge me out of my slumber comfort  zone shrieking their chants of

exercise being the right way to start your day, really!!!

Monday WRites 303

 Today's mosaic shows a legal notice for curfew hours on 19th and 20th June 2021; Butler  statue in Fyzabad Trinidad and a newspaper clipping about the Public holiday Labour Day in 2021 Lockdown, here in Trinidad and Tobago.

Newspaper clipping and legal notice i got from friends via What's App. The Butler statue image is from the internet

Labour Day, a public holiday here in Trinidad and Tobago, falls on  19 June,  compared to other countries around the world. This date was chosen to commemorate the Fyzabad Labour uprising which happened  in 1937. This event sparked the modern day trade union movement in Trinidad and Tobago.

Labour Day in Trinidad and Tobago used to be a very high energy celebration time, (that was before COVID 19)
images from the internet used for the next two mosaics

I read  in June 2017. 'The Chieftain's Carnival And Other Stories' written by Michael Anthony. One of the short stories - 'Butler on the Road' is about the struggle prior to this holiday, of Fyzabad and the hero, Tubal Uriah Buzz Butler .

now the season of rain in torrential downpours has come
