Monday WRites 252

VOICING SADNESS
What can a song do for sadness?
Bow to the melody,
Curtsy for respectful seconds,
Swing with the chorus,
Or pause to listen for heartbeats;
Sharing all the while a keen sense
Of not knowing the answers,
While questions keep voicing
Continued cognition of being,
Swirling sounds like angels'
Reported syllables of un-worded,
Whispers alive in burdened spaces;
Filling voids of sounded pools,
Never enough to lighten sighs,
Just being songs;
Where sadness lay entwined, enmeshed, woven.

But were i a poem sweetly worded!
I would dance to every syllable of the wind,
Tapping my feet in strains of lively struts,
Here a waltz, a tango, a sonnet;
Tangled in melodies of sadness,
Burdened in meter and rhyme,
Stardust would catch my evening sighs,
And sunsets stare at silhouettes.
