TREASURES
Precious fluid is ink scrawling in
conversations of preserving
in quiet time,
when sleep spreads a blanket of sky,
and stars twinkle, to rhythm of cobalt night,
then mostly,
communion of ink scrawlers start their trysts.

Precious are these phases of constructs,
building syllables, stacking words, weaving treasures,
when poetic muses hold their simultaneous assemblies.

Only at the level of similar thoughts
do these councils meet,
sometimes tapping letters; uppercase,
lowercase, hyphens and accents.

They weaves their wonders [each in his own space]
and,
store these treasures, knowing future seekers
someday will exclaim a find.

Monday WRites 147

[Today's Mosaic revisits some of my past Hosanna images]

SINGING HOSANNA
As we sing our Hosannas,
We remember a time,
When a Saviour on a donkey,
Was held in esteem high;
Only later to be denied,
Yet later still,
His forgiveness we did secure.
So we sing our Hosannas,
A people redeemed,
By grace so given.

Hosanna

On Palm Sunday, we celebrate the first joy of the season of Lent remembering the triumphant into Jerusalem of Jesus the Messiah. But this is only the beginning of Holy Week, the greatest tragedy and sorrow of the year for Christians. A Happy Holy Week to all: Sunday, 25 March to Saturday, 31 March 2018.

THENCE CAME THE RAIN
Are there any new waters or songs to croon
From the days of Noah to nearest blue moon
For waters have coursed throughout the land
Sometimes pausing to rest in surfing our sand

Unseeming clouds drink heartily to their fill
To out-pour upon trees and roofs in timely will
We love this deliverence whence gentle rain
We groan and gasp in torrents for such its bane

Where is your beginning where is your end
Circle of life rhythm of infinite blend

NOTE
I am dotted silver threads dropped from heaven
By the gods. Nature then takes me, to adorn
Her fields and valleys.
I am beautiful pearls, plucked from the
Crown of Ishtar by the daughter of Dawn
To embellish the gardens...

YOU AND ME
Ah yes good memories whisper to heart.
Those days we curved into one blossom
Of loving;
Fragrant as lavender, heady as aphrodisia.
Music of one beat shared by two beings;
In a rhapsody of stairway to heaven.
And once stardust blinked eyelids,
We stretched sated love across lips,
In lazy goodnights;
Sweetest of dreams default.

YELLOW HEADACHES
Growing up as the first, the oldest
Was truly burdensome
Truly burdensome

Such a one as me had to deal with blame
For everyone else's naughtiness
Everyone else's

Then there was the sister, fourth in line
Third sister of mine
Yes third sister of mine

Of all the ways for attention
She used to have yellow headaches
Yes my friends yellow headaches

Growing up as the first, the oldest
Was truly burdensome
Truly burdensome

ST JOSEPH'S DAY HAIBUN
When i was a child, calypsoes were not to be sung during the season of Lent [not so nowadays], however on St Joseph's Day one could take a break from the seriousness, and yes, on that day we could sing calypsoes and dance, in the school yard, in the street or at home. There was also a betting game we children played. In that we crossed fingers and deceided what we were giving up for Lent. Be it ice cream or cake or sweets etc and should one of us stray from this and another person or persons of the bet saw us we were in for some good slaps with the words LENT, LENT, LENT. Except on St Joseph's Day of course.

A ST JOSEPH INTERCESSION
“Gracious St. Joseph, protect me and my family from all evil as you did the Holy Family.
Kindly keep us ever united in the love of Christ, ever fervent in the imitation of
the virtue of our Blessed Lady, your sinless spouse, and always faithful in devotion to you. Amen.”

DEAR DRY SEASON
You have deepened and come full strength this March.
We basked in your drizzles and spontaneous showers to start.
Even within those day of Carnival sass,
Knowing full well it will surely pass.
So January and February's tease alas,
Have petered out now, to your full blast.

The ice cold beer seems so much more appealing.
With tea left in the refrigerator cooling.
The whirr of the fan these days seems a must,
And such is fitting i tell you, and just.
For your feverishly rising temperature,
Approaching Easter, is oh so familiar.

Arid the mountains then, until when in June,
Will once again rains come, and narry too soon.
So alas and adieu;
A cold sip now for sure.

SCREAM
Splashed on to canvas the blood red sky
Come let me relate this twilight glow
Remember those times you got to the edge
Easily you could have kicked the horizon
Amateur painter that you are however
Mumblings are all escaping paintbrush lips.

THE SUN SALUTES WOMEN

Rib of creation's quest
Dawn of sky's new morning

Where art those heralds
With music to keep your stepping

Surely the noon sun lined
In shadow's path cannot hide

For splendid being your respite
Allows to continue on in breaths

Cooling the desires of hungry
Epitaphs read to stone psalms

You anchor the anguish of moon
In mood shapes of passing light

And your goodness sparks the destiny
Of planets sun and orbits widening

Then Discourse, wafting windy in leafy
Boughs of mists saluted the sunrise.

[ i used 3 images from the internet to form today's mosaic]

GREEN PASTURES
Green arcs of mountains picture a landscape
Where festivals colour minds of jagged peaks
When the baby in the manger grew up,
There on a cross at Calvary bled he and died;
And the bells of baptist shouters ring out
Melodies of prophecy
A shamrock toting saint preaches of God
In personality three, yet one
And all that is green flourish in seasons
Sometimes hidden sometimes seen

CURTAIN CHORDS
A flirtatious wind
Gossamer as feelings
Fleeting to a heart's station
Lifts the curtain

Gentle movement so delicate
Cause today

Quandary: not just today
Behind your sway is longing
Searching hours in reminiscing
Sweet those days of rosebud sunsets

Monday WRites #144

[ i used 3 images from the internet to form today's mosaic]

A lot of hype about this movie, the super hero Black Panther seems to be taking over like a storm, the mind and pockets of movie goers and comic book reading enthusiasts like myself. I remember the good old ones from my youth: Flash Gordon, Hulk, Batman and so many others, which kept me wrapped in fantasy for hours on end; and too, the comic book swaps. Those are good times to remember. Whenever a super hero makes it to the big screen, my nostalgia waxes: Spiderman, Batman, Catwoman, the list goes on and on these days. We all love to see the baddies get whooped.
