BEACH RUN
When we ran, barefooted along the sand
Margined by the incoming lace of end waves,
I knew this was love's doing,
Nurturing our passion
Under a scorching sun, merely warming our hearts
In sync with each other.
Where caterpillars looped Frangipani in bloom
Our fingers entwined, we walked the paved path
To meet the mini buses
To take us back to vacation 'home'
Where aunty had cooked the breadfruit oil down
She was waiting for us
How was Grand Anse she asked?
