In T&T, March is a cool down after February's carnival madness unless; the carnival is in early March, here then, the madness is in tact.

No tea party here; it's party on the road for two days after the seasonal carnival parties, more commonly refered to as carnival fetes.

Alice's March hare will easily fit in. Carnival is about colour, costume, dance/whine, alcohol, allowed 'misbehaving' within limits. Lots of words chanted in calypso/ kaiso/soca
musical forms.

[moko jumbies welcome us to a Sunday Queens Hall performance🇹🇹  December 2025]

 SERENDIPITY

Who would be calling me this hour

It wasn't an inappropiate time of day

Just, i wasn't expecting anyone

To call me this Sunday

Hi how are you, i answer

Fine she answers

Just had some plumbing problem

But that's sorted out

Good i answer

So would you be interested

In going to the performance

this evening at Queens Hall

I couldn't believe my ears

Its a show i had wanted to go to

This has to be my Christmas miracle

Yes, yes yes, my voice echoed

I have two tickets she chimed in

I can pay for one, i retorted

Having had lunch

It was just about getting dressed

And waiting for her to pick me up

What a treat

Great singing voices,

I had been enjoying for years

Presenting a local version of

The Nativity story complete with

Enough fun and laughter

What a treat!

Magnificat of Morning - A Fold

Morning bespoke of bird song,

Wends her way in andante strides,

What could ever go wrong?

Sunrise, moonset, is morning's magnificat

As we know, bespoke of bird songs;

Fantasy of the earth standing still

Has been sipped like fine tea in long,

Pandemic permission curtailed days,

Still, will not cower to the fiction,

As Covid spanned its own season,

Even to morning bespoke of bird song.

Door Ajar,

Door ajar

A peek allowed into her heart,

She loves wholeheartedly

Still expecting love in return

She allows only a peek into

A heart that can easily be wounded

A door that can open to

A jar full of fireflies

Given with a smile

 The automatic doors open,

You are swallowed like Jonah

In the belly of the whale

Only here, you get to pick the meat

Off the teeth in the jaws,

Grocery shopping in a cool space;

You shop according to colour,

Or you shop according to taste,

The cashier ask you to tap or insert;

Paper receipts shuffle out of the device,

The automatic doors open,

You are outside in the glaring sunlight,

With a plastic grocery bag,

Having left the ground floor of the building.

The Trees Wore Scarves

My friend, one of the Adult Literacy Tutors; invites me to an afternoon in the Botanical Gardens to witness some of her online students read in person. So i go along, and i have a heart-warming time; meeting new people old and young, from all over the islands; sharing snacks and listening to splendid readings.

ALTA Online is an interactive, web-based programme of literacy instruction built around Caribbean life skills content and designed for independent use by persons aged 9 and over.

There were also options for authors to read as well: A source of inspiration and encouragement for students in the programme.

Quadrille Sharp
The trees looked sharp
 In their brightly wrapped scarves;
And the dry leaves crackled underfoot.
After the noon sun on Saturday,
There was left much to say.

From far and wide they gathered,
This day they will have their say,
And say they did.
