AFTERNOON RAIN
Rain interrupts a quiet January day.
All that a narrative is left to say.
Only it's one poet's thinking.
On an afternoon that's raining.
No cloud bold enough to defy
The downpour of a sky
Be it nineteen twenty three
Or twenty twenty three

Being blue under cloudy skies is timeless yet you pull me into one day. Nicely done, Gillena.

I love the gentle opening lines and the way your quadrille turns on the word ‘raining’, Gillena, to become a ‘downpour.
