Stay there, yes! stay indoors
Don't come out! wash your hands, sanitize too
Don't ask - but why. It's the
New normal boogeyman
He is real; real as can be, we are being hunted.

Good advice for the children. We would get a stay inside order growing up on the farm. 'Gypsies' in horse drawn wagons would "take" children out at play. Mostly though, they would sell things or take 'donations.' But mainly I think just because they were "different".

Good advice. This boogeyman is real, not like the ones I remember being afraid of in the dark!

My mother told of gypsies camping in the river bottoms near her home in southern Illinois, and of her father taking her and her siblings on a buggy ride to visit the gypsy encampment where he loved to talk horse-trading with the men. Obviously grandpa never heard the story of bypsies stealing children!

I love that phrase, 'the new normal bogeyman'. Though I don't love the fact of his existence. You got it so right!

It was great to hear you read this, Gillena. A very real bogeyman indeed. We're starting to feel a bit more hopeful here, and I actually saw my sisters yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI hope the situation improves soon in Trinidad and Tobago. 💙
