NOTE TO SELF
 Wisława Szymborska, states in her poem “Possibilities”
“I prefer keeping in mind even the possibility that existence has its own reason for being.”
I do not know this poet but i know i luv these words of wisdom. There is a ring to it that says change and uncertainty is like tomorrow, just a blink of  hope away.
The author of life has already penned in yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Note to self research and read poems by Wisława Szymborska

COLLECTIVE GOLIATH
There used to be a moon leading like a star would.
There used to be people, crowds of them in the auditorium park.
There used to be corn soup vendors late into the wee hours of morning.

Street festivals are a historic memorabilia.
Something kids will google with enthusiasm.
Curiosity feeding the research fire.

It took only the tiniest of living things to make of us all a collective Goliath.

FLIGHT TO THE GODS
Swiftly to fly away
On wings through sky that way
How wonderous dreams do say

That birds alone
Are bound air bright have shown
Irony of man in magical pearly abalone

For smoke reaches the Gods in stealth
Slowly from shell of purifying wealth

#NOTE
In some Native American cultures, the shell of the abalone is used to burn sage. They believe the combined spiritual power of abalone and sage would take their messages to their Gods.

BUTTON NOSE OF A DACHSHUND

At the edge of silence

A voice, a name pronounced right

Covid 19 protocols observed

We meet at the gate, but the puppy, sans mask

A bottle of wine is always welcome

Fringe benefits for a surprise visit

I respond to my name knowing and

recognizing the call of a sibling

Haibun Monday
Walk with me down Memory Lane

DIFFERENT KINDS OF ABODE
Many of the houses are wooden. Some are mud houses with thatched roofs. The latter i find amazing. People live there in sunshine and rain.

My house is a wooden house. The steps are many to get from the fowl coop and the kitchen downstairs to the main house upstairs.

At the back of my house is brick house and from there the grunt of pigs can be heard as they slop the mush.

The headteacher's  just before my house (as the house numbers dictate) is a brick house, even though there is a dirt oven downstairs and a wooden area for the animals.

SCALLOP DREAMS

I am not yet a butterfly having the agenda

To scallop through gardens blooming;

Nor the spirit to lightly skip through pollen

On a breakfast menu of morning glories;

What if the wind should rip a wing

When i emerge delicate,

from my chrysalis of darkness and bliss;

Asleep to the wonders of pain and joy

Unknownst to clouds on a bright sunny day;

Cumulus clouds puffy and white

Wistful and alluring to the drama

Of a meadow unkempt

Of grasses waving below

GOING QUADRILLE
Who goes to the seaside to gather coal?
I never would have imagined your days gone cold,
had i not ventured in holiday mode,
Once and once again to my dear sister's abode
Who goes to the seaside to gather coal. Nobody  i know🙃
