Dragon Fold
He ravaged far villages, he was so mean,
People lost patience and mind.
What can we do they wailed on scene
This really cannot go on
Drought must be stopped. he was so mean,
He must be stopped, and stopped now.
A tiny boy they had treated as unseen
Raised his voice to highest decibels
We must go to Dragon at Mountain Kleen
Exacerbated they all agreed because
Drought, Drought was the demon, he was so mean.

 Spewing puppies?

Treking through the paths at The Wildfowl Trust. Rocky's is anxious to get to the  paperbark tree, to hug the tree, since some of his friends had told him, how soft as velvet the tree trunk was.

Suddenly his mother asks, "where is Rocky?"  Rocky she shouts and Rocky suddenly appears, like out of nowhere.

His mother hugs him and looks at his face for scratches or cuts then spins him around. "Are you okay Rocky?" We thought you might be abducted by aliens, when we didn't see you.

They reach the pavilion and stop to have some refreshments. Rocky says he is not hungry. But after mom's persistent nagging, tries to eat a sandwich.

He retches violently and out of his stomach spews a fluffly little puppy.

"What's happening!" everyone exclaims. "That is not our Rocky". Mom cries out and raises her arms upward in anguish.

  3. I agree with Bjorn, terrifying, Gillena. But you've linked up yesterday's haibun instead of today's dragon poem. Could you please link up your dragon poem? Thanks.

  4. Like any good horror story, this one shocks you to the core! A well-spun tale, Gillena, and I especially like the hint of something mysterious in "how soft as velvet the tree trunk was."

  6. Thank you so much for linking up or dragon poem, Gillena. A fearsome dragon, too! I love that the little boy was wiser than everyone else and told them what to do.

  8. Two for the price of one. I like both of your entries. A robotic pup may not be a far-fetched idea!
