Let Her Be - A Fold poem
The i - do husband ups and left her;
She is single again and wise enough not
to play the blame game, not for her,
There are people to be blamed, she knows.
With two children to nurture, he ups and left her;
She has neither the time, money, or energy
to have another man walk beside her;
Let her be, she has a brain, she's not stupid,
He is the wild weed in the storm not her,
She can decide to be without a man,
She doesn't need another i - do cause he ups and left her.

Best to be by yourself, owning your journey and taking care of the family.

Very nicely done, Gillena. I love the line of no need for another I-do!

A very human take on stormy weather, Gillena, and i - do's are responsible for so many of the wider ills in the world - if only there were more "she has a brain, she's not stupid" in charge of running things - and maybe there will be soon - we can but hope...

An all too common story--"she has a brain, she's not stupid." I wish her well. There are too many places in the world where women are not allowed to exist without a man "to take care of them." Well done. 💙

I love the different angle on the prompt, Gillena. Best to stay single. I especially like the lines:
ReplyDelete‘He is the wild weed in the storm not her
She can decide to be without a man’.
Yes, she can.
