One Light
There is just one light
in morning's sky, silent
With clouds the colour of charcoal,
And a breeze cooling as melon;
Find me a space here,
tucked into the silence,
I will stay a little longer;
Waiting for at least,
One bird to sing.

From ‘No mail – no post’ i chose these 2 lines from Sarah Connor, to use in a quadrille
This is really lovely, Gillena. There's a sense of both yearning and acceptance. 💙

Beautifully done, Gillena. I love that you have included a bird for Sarah, and the simile ‘a breeze cooling as melon’.

Simply beautiful in brevity and style, Gillena. Love it. ❤️🥰
ReplyDeleteOh, that ending. I'm there! Even though my "there" is probably physically very different to your "there", the feeling bridges distance and difference. ❤️
