 Garden Sighs

Pity; i cannot follow the butterfly,

From the yellow to red ixora, aye!

I walk to the bougainvillea,

Its bracts oh so magenta,

The cherry has no fruit now, oh my.

  3. You have fabulous flowers in your climate. We used to go to the Isles of Scilly out in the Gulf Strean off Cornwall and I remember amazing trumpets of Datura growing by the cottage door...
    Beautiful poem Gilllena 💜🙏

  9. What a delight, this walk! (even though you couldn't follow the butterfly) The poem has a calming haiku like feel to it.

  10. Sounds like a nice garden visitor. But "wot happened" to the butterfly? He did a P poor job if no fruit. Can he blame a following rain that washed the dropped pollen off?
BTW, your Sept 7 prose post won't allow Comments???
Anyway, Congratulations on your book. The title is enticing, I feel the kids will like it.

  12. I always want to follow the butterfly, I think they are secretly my inner self. I'm very cautious around bougainvillea as they strike back 😊 Your last line is delightful above all (I hope you enjoyed them).
