Cassia tree(large) Cashew, Immortelle, Coconut (top. middle. bottom photos). In today's mosaic, some photos from my archives. Each one was taken while on Retreat, those years i sang with the senior choir at church.

Quadrille #126
Quadrille - Bother
I shudder at the thought
why bother to announce
such a disaster, the old woman lost her shoe?
and there's leftover meatloaf to share ?
with the governor whose coming over to tea ?
paper cups should suffice ,
we'll gather in the meadow, keeping distance safe.

Very nicely done. I really like both poems. Your haibun could have fit the bill as well since those busy ants are quite bothersom!! Paper cups and leftover meatloaf for the governor! I love it!

Such pretty trees, I would love to know more about how cashew nuts grow and are harvested and prepared for eating! Your poetry is fun, you are multi-talented.

Gillena - I don't think I have ever seen a cashew tree. Am I correct in observing they don't grow with shells? Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteThe shell is on the nut on the tree. The nut is roasted to remove the shell

It wasn't until I visited Brasil, did learn that the cashew nut grows on top of the fruit! A delicious fruit at that. Fun poems!
