[today's Mosaic: leaf of caladium, ixora flowers red and yellow and spider lily leaves and flowers]
CORONA APOLOGIA
What a bummer
This novel corona stunner
Shush-ing planet earth with mouth and nose gear
Calling us super heroes if we wear
Our mask of Covid 19 protocol
Maybe there was just soo much name calling
And too much cussing
We are sorry Ma!

Our churches have been lock down again. The SEA exam for children 11 plus was held last week - not as virtual exercise but a physical event, though schools are still locked down. we are still battling to flatten the curve.
You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance or
eg the rite of afternoon tea). Welcome to Monday WRites #260: A Happy Monday to all
Blog hopping today with

A bummer of a year, for sure. Our church has finally been able to meet on campus again, social distanced and with masks (our building is very large.) It's meant a lot, to be able to gather again. Praying you can do the same, soon!

Corona has certainly shushed planet earth with mouth and nose gear. I’ve been having trouble with my hearing, so masks and I don’t really get on, but they are necessary. I have some in fun materials.

We are having to stay home most of the time too. We still have new cases every day and it is risky to get out. Take care! Love your RED today! Hugs!

In 1966, when I started using "bummer", it was mild in temperament, even humorous. Today, it pales in usage while describing the chaos;. but it works well for the prompt; smile.

Good write, Gillena! I'm sorry that your churches are closed again, though. "Bummer" is not nearly a strong enough word to describe that.

I don't know, sometimes, I feel like a superhero when I put on the mask... Probably because I can say I put on my mask before flying off into the clouds with my cape. :D Well, whatever makes me feel better about this bummer pandemic. Or really, this bummer year. Such a great and beautiful piece about this current reality of the pandemic. There is truth here. Lovely writing!

I can't get worked up about having to wear a mask to be honest. I'm more concerned by the fat men with guns who are loading up for the hunting season to open in just over a week.
