A PIROUGE - FOLD
The pirogue, sped across the water;
Vacations are like that, gliding
Hours, fleeting minutes, and after
The memories, you looking back;
To the pirogue, sped across the water.
Crossing, to go to the quaint little town,
Shopping for souvenirs, sorta
Like stamped names on everything,
Must follow you home, to better
Say, i went shopping in St Georges Grenada,
Where, the pirogue sped across the water.

  1. There's always a joy in your writing, Gillena. I love the repetition here - and it works like a memory does - do you remember the day the pirogue sped across the water? Oh, yes, that day - and then all those memories fall out of that one image. Lovely. Also, very cheeky rhyming of water and sorta. Nice.
